Key: C minor
Crooked Waltz is a jazz waltz opening with the characteristic syncopated figure in the left hand. The “crooked” feel of this waltz is enhanced by the use of the chromatic harmony of the opening rhythmic accompaniment – Cm6 to Db6 and the three chords in bar 7 – Cdim Ab+7 G7b10 – also add to the wobbly feel of this piece.
